Excessive Underarm Sweating
4.8% of Americans say they suffer from excessive underarm sweating, which equals roughly 15.3 million people (Doolittle et al., 2016). About a third of people with this condition describe their sweating as, at most, “barely tolerable” and that it “frequently interferes” with their daily tasks (Strutton et al., 2004). It’s also known to lead to anxiety, depression, and “elevated social stress” (Gross et al., 2014).

How Does Botox® Treat Excessive Sweating?
In 2004, the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) approved the use of this treatment for difficult cases of excessive underarm sweating. Botox® blocks acetylcholine, a neurochemical that activates the sweat glands. After preparing the area with a numbing agent, Onsite’s clinician injects the substance into the sweat glands under each arm.

Long-term Relief
In an Australian study, Botox® was shown to successfully and safely treat excessive underarm sweating, also called axillary hyperhidrosis, and improve patients’ quality of life. Rosen and Stewart (2018) interviewed patients between 2 weeks and 10 years following their first treatment.
80.5% of patients said the treatment helped their excessive sweating for 4 months or longer. The average score for treatment satisfaction was 75-100% symptom improvement. In fact, 96% of patients said they were at least moderately satisfied.

Botox® Treatment Can Improve Your Quality of Life
Rosen and Stewart (2018) questioned the patients to assess not only treatment satisfaction but quality of life. 97% of patients said they experienced “at least some improvement in life quality” and 42.5% of patients reported that the Botox® treatment “had changed their life.”

What Is Microneedling Therapy?
Microneedling is a nonsurgical approach that uses superfine needles to perforate skin, boosting skin’s natural collagen production to decrease fine lines and wrinkles, smooth out acne scarring, and fade stretch marks.

Benefits of Microneedling:
Shrink pores
Lift and tighten skin
Treat hyperpigmentation
Smooth out acne scars
Fade stretch marks
Decrease fine lines and wrinkles

What Is the Process?
Onsite clinicians use a Rejuvapen®, a microneedling instrument that creates microscopic punctures in your skin. More specifically, the instrument punctures your epidermis and the top layer of your dermis with holes so small, they’re not visible to your eye. Skin reacts as it would to a wound, sending elastin and collagen to the area, which then start to rejuvenate and restore the skin.
After your procedure, you may feel tightness and warmth in the treatment area and may notice a red or pink tinge similar to a sunburn; these symptoms disappear in a day or so. Onsite’s clinician might suggest a specific serum, balm, or moisturizer to make you more comfortable after your procedure.

What Is the Scientific Evidence on Microneedling?
Microneedling cues your skin’s production of collagen during the healing process. The Journal of Cutaneous and Aesthetic Surgery published a study that showed 80% of participants who had the procedure reported that the amount their facial scars were reduced was “excellent” after two months of microneedling treatment. Not only that, but the majority of participants reported no negative side effects.
Lutronic studied roughly 500 participants and concluded that participants’ results following their last procedure kept improving over time. They also noted that participants who complied with all the skin care instructions had a very high level of satisfaction.

Tell Me More about Rejuvapen®!
Rejuvapen® is a microneedling tool that performs dermal collagen remodeling, which means it triggers your skin’s production of collagen. This means that it can decrease your fine lines and wrinkles as well as treat acne scars, stretch marks, and hyperpigmentation. It even can wipe out sun damage. Rejuvapen® will help make your skin appear more fresh and smooth than it has in ages.

Results: What, When, and for How Long?
You may notice a healthy appearance to your skin right after your procedure, but keep in mind that dermal collagen remodeling takes time, so be patient. Microneedling is wiping out years’ worth of skin damage, so naturally, the treatments won’t work overnight. Onsite expects that you will need between four and six sessions, based on your skin type and your beauty goals. Over the course of several weeks, you will notice your skin improving. Some of our patients find it takes three to six months for their skin to reach its peak results.

Recovery: What to Expect
You will be able to go back to your daily activities immediately following your procedure. Redness or pinkness, like a mild sunburn, is the most common side effect, which can last as long as four days, depending on the severity of the problem the procedure was correcting, though many patients heal within a day.

How Many Treatment Sessions Will I Need?
Every patient has different beauty goals, skin type, and skin health. Onsite’s clinician will use these factors to determine your treatment plan. Most patients need six treatment sessions, one month apart. If you have more severe damage, your clinician might decide you need as many as eight sessions, one month to six weeks apart. Keeping your fresh new look can require touch-up sessions.
